The municipality of Alandroal is preparing its application to the Nautical Stations Network of Portugal, with the aim of structuring and promoting its offer of nautical tourism.
The municipality plans to include in the network the “Alandroal Nautical Station” with three poles, corresponding to the Recreational and Leisure Areas of Juromenha, Águas Frias (Rosario) and Azenhas D ́El Rei (Montejuntos), all in the perimeter of Alqueva.
The pole corresponding to Montejuntos will be the first that the municipality plans to integrate into the network, since the river beach and the anchorage are already in place, in an investment of about 700 thousand euros, financed in 300 thousand euros by Turismo de Portugal. The municipality has under development the technical projects of the Nautical Center of Juromenha and the Recreational Area with Fluvial Beach of Águas Frias and hopes to obtain financing for the realization of both.
